5k

Dan, the kids, and I ran/walked a 5k this weekend.  It was a fund raiser for the school.  Me and the kids did it last year and decided that we were going to do it every year and this year Dan joined us too.  I was really trying to back out of it but Dan wouldn't let me:)  he was very encouraging and even though I have been sick forever and had not practiced for it I did it.   Dan and his buddy ran it in 26:37,  Kadrey ran it in 35:54, I walked/jogged it in 44:41, and Jaxon did it in 48:??  (he must have gotten distracted near the end -saw a bug on the ground or a butterfly haha-because he was with me through most of it).  None of us had really "trained" for it and felt that ready but we all finished - Dan and Dree did really well I think:)  and we had a lot of fun too:)

Hi!

I know I know it has been forever since I posted - and I have a goal to write at least 4x a months, not meeting my goal so far:)  I know that it is lame but it is cold in our basement and sitting down here is just too much some days lol.

I have to write about this crazy goal that Kadrey scored in her game the other day.   Its her boys team and its indoor soccer just so you know:)

Kadrey is fast....... so fast.   The mid-fielder passed the ball to her and when she saw a defender coming toward her she kicked the ball up over his head ran past him (because she is fast remember:)  got the ball and because she had out ran all the defenders it was just her and the goalie she then blasted the ball right past the goalie into the net. She doesn't always have the power to win the ball when she is challenged (although she will always try and does not give up easily) but she is fast and pretty aggressive out there. Yeah it was pretty awesome.

Jaxon has had some pretty sweet goals too........ one he kicked it off (from mid field)  it went so far that it hit the wall (by the goal - its indoor remember) bounced back to him and he kicked it again and scored.  We know that technically the goal should not have counted but his team was getting creamed and it was so awesome - so  they let it slide:)

Dan also has been doing great with his team... his favorite are the headers that he makes (they are pretty sweet).

I will try to remember to take pictures one of these days, until then I guess just use your imagination:)

the little things...

So I have been thinking about Kourtney a lot lately and I sometimes will google her name (just cuz:)  it always brings up her obituary and also the aicardi website were I posted a little thing about her when she passed away.   Well for years everytime I click on her name (in loving memory)  it always brought up some seizure med thing - until today:)  now I do not know how long it has been fixed (I don't check often) but it is fixed and I am so excited.   Yay!!!!!!!

We went to my brothers house today - after stupid work.  We watched the 49ers and the Saints play (football)  Not that I am a football watcher by any means (I read my Kindle most of the time)but Dan has been a 49ers fan for as long as I have known him and he had so much fun watching them win:)

I got a Kindle fire for Christmas and I love love it.    I just got a protective cover on it (the back is pink the front is clear).  My friend told me about a series that I just had to read - so I read the first book this week and just started onto the second book.  It is The Hunger Games.  So my sister-in-law informed me that the series has been out for a while (ok more then a while:)  but i had not heard of them until now and I love them - so far:)

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season.  I am sad that it is over - but maybe a little happy too:)

So I figured I would write down some of the goals I have for this year - no judging ok lol

  • Eat less junk food -wait, does pizza count
  • work-out more (maybe I am a little lazy ok)
  • keep my house cleaner
  • not stress out over things that I can not control
  • remember to enjoy life and not always view everything as a chore - because I might do that a little:)
The kids are excited that it is now 2012 - less excited about winter break being over though.  We even stayed up until midnight this year (and got up again at 2 when Jax started to puke in the hall way).

Dan's biological father passed away this past weekend.  He made some not so good choices in his life but he has been -for the last few years- working on turning his life around. He never got to meet Kadrey and Jaxon but will get to spend time with Kourtney and for that we are grateful:)
